DAWGS LOSE IN THIRD QRT

The last home game for Stafford and Moreno was in the rain at Samford Stadium on a day when both Dooley and Munson were honored. But Stafford and Moreno will not get there DUE, as they may sneak out of town, like the Colts leaving Baltimore. Who needs an education anyway, right?

The next to last BLOG to be written and of course witnessed by 2 other BLOG viewers. This may be the last year of the BLOG. The host just can't seem to get too, too excited about it though, but stay tuned for an exciting year end collage of photo's that willl appear sometime, with some possible music in the background. You just never know what this guy will pull out of his sleeve.

GO DAWGS, win in ORLANDO.

DAWGS IN A THRILLER IN LEXINGTON

Well tailgaters, chew any nails off during that game??? The DAWGS have allowed an avg of 38 pts a game over the past 3-4 games, making it very difficult for Stafford and AJ Green to keep up. But somehow they manage, especially with a Dwight Clark like catch in the back of the endzone in KY. If the dawgs can rally and win in Auburn and then for the last tailgate of the year in Athens, it's on to Florida for a trip to either the Cap One Bowl or Outback. Win there, and end up in the top 5 again.

More details will be posted on upcoming blogs regarding the Tech game. Since only Chef David, Sharon and I are looking, doesn't quite matter then does it?

Gators Win Big, Make DAWGS look Bad

Well, we did it again. Traveled to Jacksonville, to walk away with yet another loss. The DAWGS just can't seem to put back to back wins together against the gators from Gainesville.
The weather was perfect, yet again, for a battle on the St John's, but there was no battle. The Dawgs brought NO armor with them to battle, and missed opportunity after opportunity in the first half to keep things close. Two missed field goals, an interception, and some kind of trickery called a squib kick with the game barely into its first half, caused the DAWGS to lose any type of momentum, giving it all to TEBOW and CO. No crying this year, just a chance to redeem himself after being hurt in 2007. Half the stadium was empty again by the first of the fourth quarter, this time there was NO RED remaining, just blue and orange. The loyal gators stayed til the very end, while Meyer decided to take a few extra timeouts with the game in hand, to let his third string tailback get a few carries in. The impatient dawg players, not happy with this- might remain on their minds til next season.

Oh well, with 3 more victories, over KY, Auburn, and Tech, the DAWGS might end up 9-2 and on their way back to the land of the Citrus, more than likely a birth in the Capital One Bowl, to compete with Michigan State. Stay tuned!!!!!

WILL TEBOW CRY AGAIN???

The big question is NOT whether the Gators will retaliate on the DAWGS for punishment on last years celebration, but REALLY whether or not TEBOW will CRY again.

Let's just hope the DAWGS give him good reason, and can shut down some of their offense unlike the DAWGS ability to shut down LSU's "O". If Stafford and Co. show up again as they did in Baton Rouge, there is a very likely chance that we have a winning streak against UFL.

The Rutherford Clan is on its way to JAX Wednesday, and I'm sure others REPRENTING TailgateUGA will be on their way as well. If not attending, please insure you are in front of the screeen.

Good Luck DAWGS, bring home another victory from JAX.

ITS TIME TO GO WEST- BATON ROUGE

Can the DAWGS manage the Cats in the Bajou?? Richt has his hands full with the speed of the LSU Tigers. Which DAWG team will show up? TailgateUGA attendees at the game include the likes of Sharon and Ross(broke from wedding), Barry Jr and clan. Should be a fun time for them. For those of us staying behind, we hope to REPRESENT the DAWGS in front of the couch.

GO DAWGS. DO NOT LET US DOWN!!!

VANDY Comes to town EARLY

We will tailgate early this week, same place-Lumpkin Street in front of Myers Dorm-hopefully poopfree. Barry and Company will set up early again, this week with a few less tents. 12:30 games don't bode well for tailgating, but we will be there early to take care of the thirsty and hungry. See you on Saturday. DAWGS need another win in the EAST.

Shout out to the Keatings, and especially the lovely Candace Keating on her wedding day Saturday. What a great day for her and her family- LOVE YA Candace, its your day. We will all raise a TOAST to you sometime during the day.

VOLS COME TO ATHENS 3:30 KICK OFF

It's a low country boil at tailgateuga this weekend under the oak trees on Lumpkin, the newly found tailgate spot. The Keating's will be making their famous jambalaya, and chef Dave will be working on the rest of the menu. Come early, as the TENN weekend is always an early start. If any of those TENN fans are attending tailgateuga this weekend, please encourage them to bring their own tables, as we aren't removing red ones for their orange puke. See you on Saturday. GO DAWGS!!

Kicked Out of Meyers And Sanford Stadium

OUCH!! Not only did ESPN tell us to GET OUT, Alabama did so too. TailgateUGA started early, with Barry Jr and team setting up on LumpkinStreet around 6:30 AM securing what might be a new SITE for the team(still TBD on vote). Missing in action this week were The Keatings, The Fines, and Cindi Prosperi. Something about not having tickets, I think. Well, they happened to miss a great time, tailgate, but a long day, and of course EYE witness to a disaster in QRT 1 and QRT 2 at Sanford Stadium among 94,000+ fans, most in black. The DAWGS fall from #3 in the Country to #10 and #11 in the polls(depending on the one you like). Now, it's all uphill, but recall 2007, the year when we lost to SC and Vandy, two Eastern Division rivals, and where did we end up at the conclusion of the year?-- Yes, I believe #2 in the Country. Stay tuned for MORE football. Enjoy the pix as well, we did have a lot of fun.

ARE U READY FOR A "BLACKOUT?"

Alright, Who's up for a 7:45 gametime? ESPN Gameday on site, a long morning and afternoon of tailgating? O.K. Thought so. We will provide clear updates on the tailgate later this week, but more than likely, it's an 11:00-12:00 set up. Barry Jr will have the tents set up by 7:00 A.M. so we don't get shut out. Remember, every past Alabama-GA game has always had the town rocking early on. For some of us, a lunch meal downtown, and dinner prior to the game might be in store. All that being said, plans are to hit the heavy food at the tailgate in the 4:30-5:30 hour. C U at the game.

CENTRAL MICHIGAN REVIEW

At one time, we counted 52 at the Tailgate.

Good times. Tailgate Success once again. According to our Chef, he cooked 35 burgers, 20 pieces of chicken, 20 italian sausage, and more. There was NO food left afterwards.

Another HOT afternoon, another DAWG victory. Great seeing everyone again, and we'll tee it up again between the hedges with ALABAMA-GEORGIA.

Central Michigan Update

Friends of tailgateuga- we will be setting up early again for this weekends tailgate. Barry and Dave will set tents and tables at 7:00 AM. Chef Dave will be on site around 8:30, with plans to heat the GRILL around 12:30. Please remember to bring enough for your anticipated group, ie food and drink. Ross Keating will not be allowed to drink for at least two more home games, due to his consumption at the GA Southern game :) We have some special guests attending our tailgate and the game from Savannah, GA this weekend and we look forward to having everyone meet the Blackburne's-our co-developer on Hotel Indigo-Athens.

C U at the tailgate!!!!!!!!!

DAWGS WIN, TAILGATE SUCCESS

The Dawgs win against a weak foe in Georgia Southern. In a sweltering heat, we set up tents, tables, chairs, a NEW grill, lots of food, and plenty of drink(just ask Ross). Over 45 joined us on the lawn of Meyers Quad for the opening game. Ross and Sharon, dedicated tailgaters, stayed behind to watch over drink and food, instead of attending the 95 degree game. When we all returned from the game(early) Ross had completely finished off ALL stashed booze, so we had to drink water and soft drinks. Well, at least he and Sharon preserved the food. Thanks much to the Keatings. Pix will be uploaded on a seperate posting from the days events.

SET UP TIME THIS WEEKEND- EARLY

Barry Jr and Company will set up tents early this weekend due to the early game. I've asked him to have tents up in the quad by 8:30. Please bring some simple breakfast items along with your favorite morning beverage.

Following the game, we will tailgate with burgers and dawgs, along with the normal sides everyone brings. Tell everyone to come by pregame and postgame, we'll all be there.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL???

TAILGATE HOSTS AND GUESTS

Our tailgate continues to grow every year, making it more fun to meet new friends and expand our relationships. The most fun for us old folks though is to continue to see our college kids and their friends during the Fall, as well as our most recent graduates, their girlfriends and boyfriends, and fiances, and other students- both high school and college who attend.

This year we anticipate the Blaylocks, Hopkins, Hughes, Rutherfords, Keatings, Prosperi's, Barre, Fines, friends and family members to join us in the Myers Quad. We have all contributed throughout the years to expand our tailgate, and we could use ONE more UGA tent. Anyone who wants to step up, please let us know. We currently have 3 tents. Based on recent count, I think we have about 150 tailgate chairs- we're covered in this catagory.

Welcome Back Prosperi's!!!!

Welcome Cindy and Tony back to our tailgate at Myers Quad this year. We're glad to have you back. Please bring new friends to the tailgate this year, we'll try to feed everyone. Chef Dave has purchased a new grill which promises to feed us faster and more often. Dave informs me that he'll cook after 12:30 games and before 1:00 and 3:30 games. Remember our tailgate protocol, count the estimated number in your party and bring a main course and sides that will accomodate that total number. Or, better said, use your best guess on the total number you need to feed.

We will have new guests this year to our tailgate, as the Rutherford's and Fine's will be inviting some friends of The University of GA Business School, and partners/contractors of Hotel Indigo-Athens. http://www.hotelindigoathens.blogspot.com/ We hope you will enjoy meeting some new faces and friends that are involved in our downtown hotel project and drive by 500 College Avenue to see our progress throughout the season.

Tailgate Past Photos

Throughout our #1 ranked Bulldogs season, we will post tailgate photo's and game photo's, so please share them with me or by inputing them into the blog by posting a comment to our blogsite

I've attached a few photo's of our past tailgates. Be on the lookout this season for gameday photos, and make sure to look your best.

GA Southern Game 12:30

Looking forward to another great season of football and tailgating. We will set up our tailgate early on Saturday, Aug 30th, and tailgate a little before the game, but due to the DAWGS 12:30 kick off, all our cooking and eating will take place post VICTORY. Please plan to bring everyone so we can start the season off with a bang.
